I flew into Malága on Feb 2nd with no issues. Francisco, my driver was smiling while holding my name card, and the 35 minute drive to Torre del Mar (TDM) was pleasant with no traffic.

Pulling up to Las Yucas Apartamentos (pronounced yoo-cahs), Francisco buzzed me in and handed me the keys. I’m on the first floor, which is actually the second floor. Opening the door, I find this cute little efficiency suite on the town square where I can hear the children playing, and the church bells ringing on the half-hour.
First task after unpacking is to confuse and surprise Anne-Grete. I met her two years ago when she and her husband, Geir moved to TDM to get away from the cold winters in Norway. They reside here full time.
Anne-Grete follows me on Facebook so I didn’t post anything about coming to Spain as I wanted it to be a surprise. I reached out to her as if I was back in Canada. She was following the conversation, when suddenly I asked her what she was doing tonight. She was just finishing up an online Spanish exam and was ready for a break. I asked her if she wanted to meet at the Dover, and there was a long pause. I mean, looooong. LOL Apparently, she was starting to doubt it was me. I knew she was puzzled so I eased her mind and told her I was in town. She was so surprised. The plan worked!

It was wonderful seeing her again. We greeted each other with a hardy hug and smiles. We had a terrific catch up and will meet up in a few days.
It is supposed to rain tomorrow and I’m sure I will need some time to adjust and get organized. Time to head to a store to grab some staples for the morning, and then turn in.
It’s great to know you are back in your happy place, you ladies look fabulous. Enjoy every moment!
What a nice surprise for your friend 🧡
Have a wonderful time in Spain.
